Sub-Camps

All Guides will be assigned to sub-camps - with the exception of girls coming on their own, the girls' own Guiders have been asked to divide them into patrols so that they will not be separated from their friends.

Each sub-camp with have a mixture of patrols, some will be from local (East Yorkshire) units, some from further afield in the British Isles and some will be our international guests.

Each sub-camp will have its own staff : an experienced Guider in overall charge, one or more QMs and one or more First-Aiders, plus other Guiders to help run the sub-camp. It is expected that each sub-camp will hold around 50 - 60 Guides and ten or more Guiders.

The sub-camps are all named for tropical birds, and members of each sub-camp will wear a distinguishing necker :

Hyacinth Macaws Denim blue with yellow edging
Toco Toucans Yellow with red edging
Cranes Red with white edging
Kingfishers Peacock blue with green edging
Flamingos Candy pink with grey edgoing
Service Camp (SS) Black with gold edging
Main Staff (Still to be decided)
